Multnomah Falls in Autumn
At 620 ft, Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge is recognized as the second tallest year-round waterfall in the United States. To my eye, though, it is second to none in beauty. This waterfall, and several others in the gorge, are one of the reasons I moved to Oregon, and continue to make the short drive from Portland several times a year. This year in the Pacific Northwest has been particularly stunning with Autumn colors. Shooting the falls in shade, I used a circular polarizing filter to cut glare on the leaves. I like the way the trees on either side of the Benson Footbridge frame the falls, and mirror the color of the cluster of leaves in the lower right.
